This feature allows you to organize votes where each participant logs in with a unique code. You will see this used in general meetings (AGMs) or other meetings where votes must be unique. It ensures that only one vote can be cast per unique code and prevents participants from voting multiple times via different browsers or in incognito mode.
A unique code is assigned to each participant, granting them access to the voting session. Each code can only be used by one person and can only be used once per session. This method guarantees a fair voting process and ensures that no double voting occurs.
Instruction Slide:
Make sure not to show the default instruction slide with the QR code and login details to your audience. Instead, create a custom instruction slide that clearly explains how participants can log in with their own unique code, for example:
Multiple-Choice Questions and Results: When adding multiple-choice questions, ensure that the results are displayed in numbers rather than percentages. This provides clear insight into how many votes have been cast, especially when different voting rights are applied. If all participants have the same voting rights, displaying percentages is fine.
Excluding Groups: Want to exclude certain groups from a vote? Simply add an asterisk (*) at the beginning of your question, like:
This ensures that the codes you wish to exclude cannot vote on this specific question.
Would you like to use unique codes for your own account? Follow the steps below to start the application process:
Email Address for the Account: Send us the email address that you wish to link to your account for unique codes. Please note that this email address will no longer be usable for the regular Sendsteps usage.
Number of Unique Codes: Indicate how many unique codes you need, including any reserve codes for emergencies on the day itself.
Validity Period of the Codes: Specify how long the unique codes should remain valid. Are they for one-time use, or would you like to use them multiple times for the same audience, for example?
Excluding Groups: If you want to exclude certain groups from voting on specific votes, indicate how many and which codes should be excluded.
Linking Data to Unique Codes: If you wish to link specific data to the unique codes (such as names or company names), provide this information in an Excel file so we can process it. The results will then show who voted for what. If anonymity is a priority, it’s often advisable not to link additional data.
